Preparations

This year we planned to do maintenance on the boat and take a few shorter trips. Since we're sticking closer to home, we thought we'd take advantage of that by attending at least one of the Chris Craft Rendezvous' this year. As it turned out, Erin's work contract expired in time for us to have some extra time, so we're about to head off on a 2+ week trip. Our itinerary will include both the Port Orchard and the Canadian Chris Craft Rendezvous, where we'll hobnob with an assortment of other classic Chris Crafts. The Canadian event will be held this year at Telegraph Harbour in the Gulf Islands. Our guests for the trip will be Erin's parents Ray and Mary, and for added adventure we'll be bringing along our cat Tribble - a first for both her and us.

Over the past few days we've been bringing various items to the boat for the trip, and that activity of course shifted into high gear today as we stocked the freezer, refrigerator and pantry with various and sundry items. We'll have at least as much stuff to bring tomorrow - you'd think we were preparing to be gone several months, but we plan on returning in late July.

I'll be updating this blog when Internet connectivity exists, and if we get any high speed connections I'll be uploading photos this year to a Shutterfly share site, which I'll post later when it happens. So, stay tuned to this blog - some additional words should appear by this weekend, when we'll be at Port Orchard for the first rendezvous.

  1. I am now the first follower and apparently the second and third too. In creating a Google account and my own blog I have somehow entered myself two or maybe three times. But at least I can now comment and post stuff to my own blog called FloriNords. I would include the URL but I can no longer find it.

  3. Alice & Chris Coleman are following, (Alice is Ray's First Cousin) in fact with Loren's meticulous commentary we feel we are also on the boat...Happy sailing.
